I am writing about this on my blog because I believe there are a lot of you women out their who believe in prayer and trusting the Lord.I have a dear friend in Phoenix who was also my midwife for two of my children, who has a new Ministry called Helping Mothers and Babies Inc. Her and her 21 year old daughter are on their way to Uganda to bring birth kits and teach women about healthy pregnancies and birth. Along with this they give the gospel and hope to win souls for Jesus. Did you know that there are still women putting cow dung on the umbilical cord? Why because they have not been taught any differently. This is what Carol and Callie are hoping to do is educate these women and help them see the Love of Jesus. We all know that children are a gift from God so I believe this is a great ministry.
I just heard that they had some problems in Seattle. The daughter's passport is almost expired and for her to travel it needs to be good for another 6 months. This is very scary for them as the daughter is staying back and will be traveling alone when her passport gets updated. You all know what to pray. Whatever God lays on your heart. Last night as I was sitting on the couch I felt this heavy burden to pray fro Carol and Callie. I stopped what I was doing and did just that began to pray not knowing why but knowing that they needed me to. I am trying to really listen for God and I guess he does talk to us I have just for many years been too busy. I do not have the official website of this ministry but if you google Helping Mothers and Babies, Inc. you will find them. I will keep you all posted with their trip and again thanks for praying for your fellow Sisters in Christ.

So, glad you enjoyed Jotham! : )
The series I mentioned I read to myself but I'll try and think of another that our kiddos really enjoyed and I'll get back to you.
Blessings! : )

Susan, I just read the e-mail from Dee Dee and sent a reply. Your post was very well-written, there are prayer warriors forthcoming. Love Mom
I'm thinking, "How blesseed was Susan to have that woman as her midwife?" Incredible!
I immediately prayed that the travel challenges will move forward without further incident and that these women are exceedingly able to accomplish God's purposes in Uganda.
Blessings and Happy New Year,
~Toni~
Hi Susan,
I thought of some book ideas! (you may have already read them though)
One is the Elsie Dinsmore: Life of Faith. This is the updated version. They were great!!!
Our library had all 8 of them, but I noticed they are cheap at amazon.com
Or the web site has them at www.lifeoffaith.com
They were a blessing to us. One of the ladies in our homeschool group started an Elsie Dinsmore club and we had to read one book a month and then they did a craft at her house and had tea and talked about the spiritual lessons from the books. It was too cute.
The books were so good though, that even my boys wanted to listen. : )
The series my kids loved the very most was when I read them all 7 of the Chronicles of Narnia. (I tried to do all different voices for the characters. They loved that)
We used the book Roar! A Christian Family Guide to the Chronicles of Narnia.
It had fun facts and discussion questions for each chapter in all 7 of the books. I liked the Biblical comparisons it brought out. It caused us to have some great discussions. It has fun quizzes and activities also the recipe for Turkish Delight.
(we love the movies but think the books are better!!!) My kids really came to love and appreciate C.S. Lewis and we ended up putting their favorite quotes on their bedroom walls using a paint pen.
Sorry this is such a long comment!!!!!!! I love to talk about read aloud books. : )
