Those who plant in tears will harvest SHOUTS OF JOY. They weep as they plant their seed, but they sing as they return with the HARVEST.

Am I really That Old?

A couple of nights ago at dinner we started talking about mommy's favorite activity.

You ask? What is that?

Taking Long Hot Baths.

All of my children know that when I go and take a bath it is my quiet time and they had better leave me alone.

At dinner I told them how when I was pregnant with my oldest I would sit in the bath every night after dinner because it was the only thing that made me feel better.

My oldest one then proceeded to say, " I thought you started taking baths because you were so stressed out."

I told her that when I was a little girl I loved to take baths and play with my Weeble Wobbles. I would slide them down the back of the bath and they would make a huge SPLASH!

The seven year old looked at me with the sweetest look and said, "That sounds like it would have been fun, even though you didn't have a T.V.

I looked at her and almost passed out.

I couldn't say anything so my husband said it for me," How old do you think we are?"

I must be getting older because my children think I lived in the dark ages.

That is so funny! Our children do the same thing. They think that we lived in the stone age or something. The funny things children will say.

That is hilarious. I remember telling my boys that I used to talk to my friends while I hid in the pantry with the phone cord stretched across the kitchen. They asked why I just didn't unplug the charger :)

Wonder if weebles are still around? My fun times of "Am I really That Old" is when I meet people who have been married 65 years and we are celebrating 38 next month, Feb. 14th. Or, going to the senior center for lunch $3.00 and actually having fun! Anyway, your posts always bring a smile, and the memories abound! Nana C

Don't you just LOVE how they think we are ancient. Check my blog. I will share a story from the other night about how old my children made me feel.

That is sad and funny - isn't it? I am very familiar with Weeble Wabbles - I'm old! Take care and have a good weekend. Kellan

Hi Susan,
I saw your blog comment at mommymonk. I just wanted to let you know that I left a comment about depression on her blog. I was depressed for quite a while back. I shared my experience there and maybe it will help you to help your sister.

I have six children too. 2 boys and 4 girls. The last two were surprises, but I can't imagine my life without them.

Yes, they often tell me how old I look and afraid that I would die soon. Luckly they didn't tell me that when I was depressed.

God bless you.
