Those who plant in tears will harvest SHOUTS OF JOY. They weep as they plant their seed, but they sing as they return with the HARVEST.

Livin on a Prayer

I am sure you all remember that old Bon Jovi song, Livin on a Prayer. Well I had forgotten about until yesterday. My sister e-mailed and said that she was sitting on her couch with hair color in her hair listening to 80's music when this song came on. She said she was singing at the top of her lungs and thought that is my sister and her hub. She went on to say you all have been through so many difficult journeys and you held on to each other and prayed. I know these journeys were difficult going through them but it just shows how our faith can get us through anything.

She went on to say that we epitomize the phrase "Living on a prayer." I say to her thank you for seeing that in us.

I sometimes wonder if I am being the hands and feet of Jesus and if I am really affecting people for the good of His Kingdom. I think I am. It is amazing how people are watching us all the time and we don't even notice. I think when people really watch you is when you are going through a hard time. They want to see how you handle it. So I ask you all when something happens in your life that is not what you had planned, do you keep your eyes focused on God and glorify him or do you complain and whine and whimper? We can really be a witness to people with how we react during the hard times.

This last November My husband and I had a miscarriage and lost a precious gift. It hurt really bad and I know it will for a long time, but I told myself I will keep my eyes focused on the Lord and we will get through this with our Father in Heaven. I guess people were watching and I am so glad I kept praising my Father through all of it.

We serve a mighty God and we should all be "Living on a Prayer." It makes life much easier knowing we have our Savior looking out for us.

It's not always easy to stay positive and focused when there is trauma or turmoil in our lives - but, it is during those times that we are truly tested and people are watching - you are right. Thanks so much for the reminder. Have a good day. Kellan

I am reminded of the sermon I heard on Sunday. That Phil 4:4 should be a commandment. "Rejoice in the Lord and I say always rejoice." When we are going throught those times, we should look to the Lord and pull in our rejoicing and praise. Then when the lost person sees us throught our trail we will be at peace riding the wings of the Father. I love that song.

When I saw the title the song went through my head, lol. Too funny!
I'm sorry about your loss, I know it hurts, but it does get easier AND it can be used for God's glory. I could never truly emphathize with women who have lost a child until I went through it. And I truly do count it a joy to have gone through it and to be able to minister to others.

(((Susan))),
This post is beautiful, and timely. I spent 4 days last week with the author of our hs curriculum. The message that impacted me most from our time together was: What ELSE can we be doing as a family of purpose, to advance the Kingdom of God? Your post hit home again.

I'm truly sorry for your miscarriage too. I served as a boards moderator for Hannah's Prayer (an online ministry for Christian couples dealing with infertility, including the loss of a child from conception through early infancy). As you know, my 4 children were adopted, so you can assume my heart knew the pain of missing someone I've never met. How eye opening it was to me to read your words about others watching what we're going through. (((Hugs))).
Blessings,
~Toni~

I was wearing the Ultimate Baby Wrap from Target.com, and it really affordable. I love it. But I want a few more wraps because I don't always have it with me. One in the bag, one in each car, one in the house... that would be great! I didn't like the Maya wrap that I borrowed, but it was shorter than most slings, so maybe that was the problem. But it hurt my shoulder, otherwise it was comfortable and easy and pretty. Sam liked it. But he prefers the wrap. He wants to face the world.
We sleep with our babes, too. Kaytlin is a lone survivor of a twin pregnancy, so she cried all the time, wearing her would have been so good. She NEVER left my arms. She didn't go in a crib until she was a year old. I couldn't even use the bathroom without holding her. The rest of my kids turned out fine without wearing them, but I did hold them all the time, just wearing them would have helped ME get stuff done, lol.
